A letter to the Physician:
Your patients need your input about exercise
The American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) have teamed up to encourage physicians to prescribe exercise to their patients. A recent survey, conducted by the ACSM, found that nearly two-thirds of patients would be more interested in exercising to stay healthy if they were advised to do so by their doctors. The patients also said that they would like their doctors to give them additional resources and information pertaining to exercise programs.
Movement is Therapy™ is the solution. Our program offers doctors a trusted and efficient source that enables them to prescribe fitness to their patients.
We know regular exercise and movement are clearly linked to better health. Movement heals. But one size does not fit all and when done incorrectly can cause more harm than good. It is especially important to learn “how to” move correctly and which exercises and programs can help each individual improve their personal health.
The Movement is Therapy™ program works with physicians and their patients to identify, manage, and control health risk factors through movement and exercise. Based on physician recommendations, we design movement programs tailored specifically to the needs of individuals who struggle with long or short term health issues. We use SOAP noting to maintain a continuity of care with physician and other medical professionals and to accurately manage and document client progress.
The Movement is Therapy™ program is an easy-to-follow, safe exercise system that is specifically designed to improve the overall health and fitness of an individual and support and accelerate recovery from an illness or injury. For those individuals who are at risk for certain diseases, we offer preventative programs for diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.
Movement is Therapy™ for:
- Chronic pain
- Low back pain
